GFAN Africa Regional Week of Action

This year, the Global Fund’s 7th Replenishment aims to raise at least 18 billion US$ to fight HIV, TB and malaria and build stronger systems for health. It is estimated that one-third of the US$18 billion – US $6 billion – will be investments in resilient and sustainable systems for health that both support the ongoing fight against HIV, TB and malaria and reinforce pandemic preparedness. This has been witnessed during COVID-19: The same laboratories, supply chains, data systems, diagnostics tools, etc. built to fight HIV, TB and malaria were used to fight the new pandemic. The same community health workers who are vital to delivering HIV, TB and malaria services can simultaneously serve as the first line of defence to prevent, detect and respond to new disease outbreaks.
