The world is, undoubtedly, in a new era of uncertainty with multiple crises, including pandemics, wars and conflicts, and climate change. The epidemics of HIV, TB and malaria continue to devastate communities. For example, in 2021, TB killed 1.6 million people and was the leading killer of people living with HIV. In addition to the epidemics of HIV, TB, and malaria, the world has not fully recovered from the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly impacted health, lives, and livelihoods and caused a social and economic crisis characterized by mass unemployment, increased impoverishment, and exacerbation of longstanding inequities.
