The Global Fund Advocates Network (GFAN) Africa, unites community and civil society voices and efforts across Africa to support a fully funded Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Hosted by WACI Health and Impact Santé Afrique, GFAN Africa has built a continent wide social movement that demands health for all by recruiting, connecting and mobilizing advocates to communicate the urgent need for successful Global Fund resource mobilization , and increased and effective domestic resources for health in African Union member states.
Guided by the Global Fund investment cases and regional health financing frameworks such as the Africa Leadership Meeting on Health (ALM) GFAN Africa reaches out to donors, private sector and foundations to contribute to the Global Fund, and implementing countries to invest domestic resources at country level. These resources strengthening health systems, preventing new infections of HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria and saving lives.
Our core strategies are focused on making an impact in three areas of global health work:
- Support Advocacy and Resource Mobilization for the Global Fund;
- Initiate and support domestic health financing advocacy actions of GFAN Africa members at regional and national level, and
- Build the movement to facilitate and expand the membership network in support of the Global Fund.
